Que Johnson was hired as the top assistant coach for Eastern Oregon Men's Basketball on September 24, 2021 ahead of the 2021-22 season. Coach Johnson joined the Mountaineers following a two-year professional playing career in Brazil where he played for Basquete Blumanau/APAB in the Brazil-CBC League. He played overseas following a successful collegiate career at Washington State University and Western Kentucky University, respectively.
As coach, Johnson spent this past season, 2020-21 working as a volunteer assistant coach at Lakeland High School in Rathdrum, Idaho. During that time, Johnson also operated a business that trained high school age basketball players in personal skill development in North Idaho.
As a player, Johnson was a member of the Washington State Cougars men's squad from 2012-16. He redshirted his freshman season in 2012-13 before playing three seasons with WSU from 2013-16. While with the Cougars, he appeared in 93 games for his career and was tabbed a starter in 42 of those contests. He finished his career at WSU ranked 16th in three-point field goals made with 121. He averaged 9.0 points per game in three seasons, including a season best 11.3 per contest during his redshirt-junior season in 2015-16.
Following his time at WSU, Johnson played his final collegiate season at Western Kentucky in 2016-17. With the Hilltoppers, he started in all 32 games for them and averaged a career best 13.2 points per game. In his one season with WKU, Johnson shot 39.2% from the floor and was a 34.6% shooter from beyond the arc. He also dished out 54 assists, tallied 27 blocks and blocked 11 shots.
Johnson received his Bachelor's degree in Social Science from Washington State in 2016 and went on to earn his Master's degree in Intercollegiate Athletic Administration from Western Kentucky in 2018. He has a girlfriend, Jennaka, and a four-year old son named Braylen.
