Stephanie Upshaw joined the EOU athletic department staff in 2013 as the eligibility and compliance coordinator. In 2014, she also became the assistant athletic director.Â

Prior to EOU, Upshaw served as the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Intern for Championships and Special Projects. She was responsible for assisting the commissioner with a range of management projects including championship event preparation and implementation, as well as operations at national and conference meetings. In addition, she conducted and reported on detailed research for the conference.Â

Before joining the CCC, Upshaw received her Master of Education and Certification in Sports Management in 2012 from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas. She graduated from the program as the top student in her cohort.Â

During her time at St. Edward’s, Upshaw worked in the athletic department as an events and facilities intern. She worked with the associate athletic director on all regular season events and conference championship operations, as well as various research projects.Â

Prior to St. Edward’s, Upshaw received her undergraduate degree in May of 2007 from Western Oregon University. She double majored in health education and business administration with a concentration in sports management.Â

During her time at Western Oregon, Upshaw competed as a student-athlete on the women’s cross country and track & field teams. After she completed her eligibility, Upshaw served as a volunteer cross country coach with Western Oregon for one year. In her last two years at Western Oregon, Upshaw was actively involved with the Forgotten People Foundation and traveled to Vietnam to support its sponsored orphanage. She also served on Western Oregon's Board of Foundation.Â

Hailing from Union, Ore., Upshaw graduated from Union High School, where she was a multi-sport athlete. She is an avid runner with a sincere passion for the opportunities and skills a collegiate athletics program can build and provide for student-athletes.
