KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University track and field student-athletes, Kimmy Moore and Robbie Haynie, were named the female and male field athletes of the meet at the 2012 Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships Saturday.

Moore receives the award after winning the heptathlon conference title. The Noxen, Mont., native also won the 400-meter hurdles in 1:01.69. Her time breaks a 16-year-old meet record and a school record. Moore was part of the 4x100-meter relay team that set a new school record Friday, and anchored the 4x400 team that took first place in NAIA automatic qualifying fashion Saturday.

The EOU quartet of Moore, Kadie Booth, Allison Escobar, and Alma Garcilazo finished with a time of 3:54.85. That time is third on the Eastern all-time list. During the meet, Moore also placed second in the 100 meter hurdles, fourth in the 400, third in the women's long jump and sixth in the high jump.

Haynie amassed a total of 62 points for the EOU men. The senior won the pole vault Saturday, setting a new meet record of 17 feet, 3 inches. It is his top mark of the season, and the highest vault in the NAIA. He remains the only athlete in the NAIA to clear 17 feet in 2012. Haynie also placed fifth in the javelin with a top throw of 186 feet, 8 inches. He was also a member of the Eastern 4x400-meter relay team that finished with a time of 3:22.33.

Competing in her first CCC Championship meet, Brooke Randall hit an NAIA auto mark of 149 feet, 2 inches, placing second in the women's javelin. It's a new school record and the fourth best mark in the NAIA.

Garcilazo hit an NAIA auto mark in the women's 800 meters. The senior finished second with a time of 2:13.18. She entered the race as the second seed in the conference.

Laura Hansen placed fifth in the women's 5,000 meters with a time of 19:08.81. In the men's 5,000 meters, Kody Coxen and Isaac Updike placed fifth and eighth.

Jake Wilcox scored three points for the EOU men with a sixth place finish in the men's shot put. Chris Wilson grabed three points with a sixth place finish in the men's 400 hurdles. Eastern also finished sixth in the men's 4x400-meter relay.

Jessianne Heley had a sixth place finish in the women's 400-meter hurdles. Kelsey Kinzer finished sixth in the women's 200 meters with a time of 26.16.

The Mountaineer women finished third in the team standings, while the EOU men were fourth. The Concordia men won the team title for the seventh straight year, and the CU women captured its sixth straight title.
