CORVALLIS, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University cross country student-athlete,
Karlee Coffey, finished third at the Beaver Classic Saturday.
Running against NCAA Div. 1 competition, Coffey recorded an EOU record for 6,000 meters. Her time of 21:29 beat out several other Cascade Collegiate Conference runners in the meet hosted by Oregon State University.
The Eastern Oregon Men's and Women's Cross Country teams ran well and both finished in second place at the Lewis-Clark State College Open also on Saturday.
The women's team finished with a total time of 1:35:24, two minutes behind Lewis-Clark State College.
They were led by
Laura Hansen and
Alma Garcilazo who both recorded a time of 18:43 and finished in fifth and sixth place respectively.
The results for the rest of the team were: Kimmy Moore (10th in 18:58),
Cristal Delgado (15th in 19:25),
Talissa Baldovino (19th in 19:38),
Christy Roe (28th in 20:37),
Kayla Christensen (32nd in 20:49),
Jacky Sheoships (33rd in 20:52), and Mo McKenzie (37th in 22:07).
The men were just as impressive finishing with an overall time of 2:10:27 and seven runners placing in the top 20.
Brian Bragg led Eastern Oregon in eighth place with a time of 25:46.
He was then followed by Issac Updike who finished with a time of 26:03 and 11th place.
Hans Roelle came in right after Updike in 12th with a time of 26:07.

The next meet will be in Ashland, Ore. at the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships on Nov. 5 at 10 a.m.
