While at Eastern Talia was recognized for the following Individual achievements:

-        NAIA All- American 1988,1989 (5^th and 3^rd place finish at nationals in the heptathlon)

-12 time Dean’s List Honors

-EOU Records 100 m Hurdles, 200 m, 400 m, 800 m,      Heptathlon, 4 x 4 Relay

-Female Student Athlete of the Year 1988
