During a 25-year career at Eastern, Insko coached football, men's basketball and track. He came to La Grande in 1968 as the new head football coach. During his 10 years on the gridiron, the Mountaineers won 35 games. In 1978 he took over as head coach of the men's basketball team. Eastern won 56 games and lost 54 during the four years he directed the program, including a 17-12 campaign and a district playoff berth in his final season. Insko also as an assistant men's basketball coach for six years, and assisted with the track team for nine years. After his coaching career ended, Insko moved to the Mountinign Education department. He taught for three years, then was hired as Dean of Regional Programs-- a position he held until his retirement in June of 1994.
