Ten Players Score as Mountaineer Women’s Soccer Thumps Sierra Nevada

TAHOE VISTA, Nev. – The Eastern Oregon University women's soccer team had a little déjà vu on Thursday night, as the Mountaineers reached double digits for goals for the second time this season against Sierra Nevada College.

Ten different players got into the scoring act, and EOU (5-0) remained unbeaten with the 10-0 victory over the Eagles.

"We had a good road trip with a lot of solid contributors," said head women's soccer coach Justin Wagar. "Now we have a little bit of time to rest and fine tune things before conference starts."

The Storyline

With the victory, EOU is just one win away from doubling its win total from the 2014 campaign.

Senior forward Crystal Schuder got things going for the Mountaineers in the 8th minute, as she scored off a pass from freshman midfielder Kendall Loreth to put EOU on the board, 1-0.

The Mountaineers later added to the damage in a span of 29 seconds, as junior defender Lisa Clausen and Loreth fired in goals in the 15th and 16th minutes to extend EOU's advantage to three.

Freshman standout Zoe Anderson tallied her seventh goal of the season in the 20th minute, while sophomore forward Morgan Delay recorded her third of the year in the in the 22nd minute to cap EOU's five-goal half.

Sophomore forward Maddy Cillay kicked off the Navy and Gold's scoring in the second half off a pass from senior midfielder Haley Hill, and then freshman midfielder Megan Dimmler sent one in the back of the net in the 55th minute to give EOU a 7-0 lead.

Senior defender Allison Jordan and sophomore midfielder Charli Torres scored nearly four minutes apart, and then Hill added a goal to go along with her assist to put the icing on the Mountaineers' 10-goal explosion.

In the box, junior goalkeeper Jessica Parker collected the victory for EOU.
